Here’s what our students are saying

I was born with bilateral hip dislocation and three yrs ago a hip replacement was diagnosed…I was 50, way too young. I had hip & knee pain and was taking pain meds daily. I have been attending Paula’s beginner class for two yrs now, going only once a week; recently started two to three times a week. I have not had to take pain meds daily for months, my hip is pain free and will NOT be having a hip replacement any time soon! Some days I do have aches but going to Paula’s class fixes that! Paula is attentive to any injury or weaknesses you may have and gives modifications to the poses. Her instruction is detailed and easy to understand, always helping students with poses. An important part of yoga is breathing, this helps with everyday well being. On my recent bone density test, my lumbar T-score was +0.1, an increase of 5.9% since 2009; my hip T-score decreased but that is expected with my condition. I tell all my old friends, try yoga, try yoga; you’ll be amazed at what it does for you. – Gail

I’ve been taking yoga with Paula for a little over a year now and am amazed at what a difference it has made in my life, both physically and mentally. Due to years of working in a greenhouse environment with a lot of heavy lifting I’ve had back problems and was constantly going to a chiropractor for adjustments. Since starting yoga my back has improved 100 percent. Paula is a very patient and caring teacher and I enjoy going to all levels of her classes. The class times vary enough to accommodate busy schedules and she’s always willing to adjust them. Yoga has really and truly changed my life! Sue

“I was diagnosed at the age of 36 with early-onset Parkinson’s Disease. A part of this condition is chronic pain and stiffness of muscles and joints. Paula’s class has made a HUGE difference in my life! Paula is very diligent in making sure everyone in her class works out to the best of their ability. It can be a very strenuous workout if you want it to be, or in the case of having an injury or just a lower fitness level, the class can be great for building fitness. I no longer dread exercise, I LOVE going to class. I feel the best I’ve felt in over 2 years. Also, the class is completely judgment free. I’ve never once felt odd or stared at because of the tremor of hands or my lack of balance. You are accepted as you are.” Sheri
